Summer Schedule 
                         Begins in May for Memorial Weekend and
                         Ends in September after Labor Day Weekend

PROGRAMS:  No additional cost to participate -- Regular admission applies and subject to weather permitting

Daily Feeding Tour: Follow along as one of the park animal keepers makes the rounds feeding the animals. The keeper takes time to explain interesting facts about the animals as they are fed -- a great opportunity to learn about our wildlife!

Daily at noon (weather permitting) 

Animal Presentation: Gather around for a closer look as a keeper brings one of the animals out onto the grass.  Perhaps an owl, an eagle or maybe the raccoon.   Enjoy an informative talk about the featured animal.

Year round

WILDLIFE AWARENESS PROGRAM:    A Traveling Wildlife Education Program Featuring Live Animal Ambassadors - Available to outdoor science camps, schools and community groups by special arrangements call (909) 584-1299. Program fees start at $175 for Big Bear Valley presentations; other San Bernardino County on-the-mountain communities, $250; off-the-mountain San Bernardino County communities $325; communities beyond San Bernardino County $350. For any school based presentation, the second presentation during the same day is provided at a 20 percent discount.

GROUP TOURS in the Animal Park: These tours are led by volunteer docent and must be arranged at least two weeks in advance and are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.  The maximum group size is 80. Tours are conducted Monday through Friday. Call (909) 866-9700 for reservations - Cost: Groups 1-25 is  $200;  For each additional person add $4.00. More information can be read on the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District web-site.

Ages 7-12
Six One-Week Sessions: $60.00 per week
Hours are 9am - 2:00pm

6/23-27 Mammal Mania
6/30-7/3 Free as a Bird: Birds of North America ($50 short one day)
7/14-18 Radical Reptiles
7/21-7/25 Keepin' It Green: Be Animal Aware
7/28-8/1 Survival of the Fitest: Endangered Species

Camp is limited to 25 children per session. Call the Park District Office (909) 866-9700 for more details and registration.

Every Saturday Night in October and the First two Saturdays in November

FLASHLIGHT SAFARI:  Experience the park's nocturnal animals. Gates open 6:15 PM and close at 6:30 PM to start the tour.  Bring your flashlight and ware warm clothes. Regular admission applies to all. For more information call (909) 584-1299.

All special events in the park, except Ice Cream Safari, have no additional costs--regular admission applies.

June 9
10am - 4pm

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST: This year, New Contest Rules. You do not have to come to the park on June 9 to be a participant. However, this will be a special photo op day of the animals. Regular park admission fees required to enter the park. For the Friends of Moonridge Zoo entry is free.

SENTINEL DAY -- Cancelled this year, will re-schedule for next year -- to be determined.

This is a fundraiser for the Zoo's relocation. Previously known as the Alpine Wildlife Celebration and renamed to pay tribute to the fan clubs of the actors of "The Sentinel" TV series. Open to the public, this event will feature our popular Animal Adoption Auction. For more information, please call (909) 878-4200.

July 7
10am - 3pm

OLD TIME BEAR COUNTRY FAIR:  Enjoy country fair activities for the whole family. Includes face painting, jewelry making, bear toss, and bear roaring contest. Also pie eating contest between our 3 black bears--who eats their pie the fastest? For the Friends of Moonridge Zoo entry is free. Call (909)878-4200 for more information.

August 4
1pm - 7pm

BLUES FOR THE ZOO CONCERT: To be held outdoors at "Swim Beach" at Big Bear Lake. click here for details.

September 1
11am - until ice cream runs out

ICE CREAM SAFARI:  Tour the Zoo and enjoy delicious scoops of ice cream at five special stations throughout the park. Additional price to participate in Ice Cream Safari is $5.00 per person. For the Friends of Moonridge Zoo entry is free. For more information call (909) 878-4200.

September 8
9:30am - 5pm

RUN FOR THE GRIZZLIES: 17th Annual Harley Bike Run fundraiser for our Grizzly Bears. Open to the public and all bikes welcome! Poker Run around the Lake with 7 stops including our animal park. More Information Background and History of event. There is no pre-registration.

October 20
11am - 3pm

WOLF AWARENESS DAY:  We dispel myths about wolves and inform everyone of their importance within the circle of life. Have a fun day at the zoo with fun activities for the kids. For the Friends of Moonridge Zoo entry is free. For more information, call (909) 878-4200.

October 27
1pm - 5pm

BOO IN THE ZOO: Bring your children (and yourself) dressed in costumes to this special afternoon of Tricks 'n Treat-- Visit The Graveyard, Pumkin Patch, Electric Dungeon of Doom, Witches Brew, Scarecrow Land, Witches Lair, and Goblins throughout the park. Enjoy seeing the park animals receive their Halloween treats! Win a prize for best costume(s) in several categories. For the Friends of Moonridge Zoo entry is free.
